ACT Prep:

ACT/SAT Prep Classes:  We have 5- tiered small group or one on one ACT Prep Classes to help the student's improve their scores and obtain Merit Based Aid and Scholarships. Our average student goes up 3+ points and each point can be potentially worth thousands of dollars each year in scholarships.(See our HISTORY OF SUCCESS) Our Prep is different than most places because we believe that you need different classes for students based upon the score they have already received. Most places that offer prep have a group class that has 20-40 students in the room and their scores range from 17-32. How can you teach to that group? We strongly believe that once students have the basic understanding of the ACT test (score of 23+ ), these students should be in a small group or 6 or less students where all the students are within 1-3 points of where they have achieved. Preferably, the Prep will be one on one. This way we can tailor-make the class for that particular students needs rather than what the set curriculum that was set for the group. Prep is about peeling back the layers to define the areas that need the most assistance. Once that is determined, looking at the details of that area, on whether there is a pattern of this from each test and are there particular questions that the student is stumbling on each and every time they encounter these same situations. Just like a doctor, the more details we can uncover, the easier it becomes to get the help they need to improve their situation. We give more one on one attention to the better students. The reason we do this is that you could have a student go from an 18-24, improve 6 points and not get any money because most colleges start giving merit-based aid at a 25 or above. You could take a student from a 29 to a 31, and that potentially could be worth $50,000 + over a 4 year period. They only went up 2 points and got $50,000 but they went up in the point range where it mattered most. Our one-on-one prep is available to all students once they receive a 27 or higher.  The other key component that makes our prep different than most places is that the prep is unlimited. You will pay the same price to prep once with or us or 8 times. Most places that do ACT Prep charge a huge amount of money each time you prep. That means you pay that each time you prep for each different test. Since we know that small group or one-on-one prep works if done repeatedly we felt the best way to make sure students prepped was to make it unlimited. This way since you don’t have to keep paying to utilize the prep, you are more likely to take advantage of the service to help you improve your scores which could directly relate to dollars in your pocket through scholarships

In addition, we have subject review courses for ACT Prep. Each week, we have a session in Math, Science, English and Reading where students show up and work on practice problems from old retired ACT exams and practice the areas they are not as strong academically. For example, this week on Tuesday we might have English where all we are working on is questions that have to do with punctuation. We also would have Math and only do problems relating to Algebra on the ACT test. 48 weeks of the year they have access to ACT prep, and that kind of attention to detail is what allows families to improve their scores, by getting the help in the specific area that they need the most assistance.
